This is possibly Mrs Margaret Legrand Gunn, who was born in Scotland on 26 Dec 1817, daughter of David Jamieson (1781-1845) and Margaret Cundell (1785-1845) of 'Glen Leith', near New Norfolk. The Jamieson family arrived in Hobart on the ship Skelton on 27 Nov 1820 when Margaret was nearly three years old. Margaret became the second wife of noted botanist and public figure Ronald Campbell Gunn (1808-1881) on 18 Dec 1839, in Hobart. The couple had nine children, only four of whom lived to adulthood. The family lived at 'Newstead' in Launceston where Margaret died aged 77 on 30 Mar 1895. She was buried in the Scotch Cemetery, Launceston, and her tombstone was later moved to Carr Villa.
