This is possibly Catherine Maria Piper who was born in the Port Sorell district on 17 Nov 1875. She was the fourth of seven children of John Piper (1840-1927), a storekeeper, and Ellen Hardstaff who were married in 1868. The family had moved to Launceston by 1879. In the Electoral Roll of 1903 she was living with her parents and sister Mabel at 46 Garfield Street and described as a Lady Help. She is likely to be the Miss Piper who was a soprano in the Exhibition Choir in 1891-92.

Catherine Piper died in Burnie on 23 Sep 1931. Her older brother Stephen Frederick is also in the Album.
