Kate Selwyn Gee was born in Launceston on 22 Jun 1873, the twelfth of 14 children of John Gee (1831-1922) and Emma Storey (1837-1892). Only eight children survived to adulthood. Two of her sisters, Emma and Nellie, are also pictured in the Family Album. One of these three sisters was a soprano and one was an alto in the Exhibition Choir in 1891-92. Kate moved to Adelaide with her father and three unmarried sisters after 1897. She died at Norwood, South Australia in 1968.
