Ada Marian Windeatt was the only daughter of George Windeatt (1836-1866) and his wife Mary Ann (Annie) Ferguson (1840-1923). She was born in Launceston on 11 Sep 1862 and did not marry. Ada assisted her mother in running a school in Frederick Street, Launceston, until Annie died in 1923. Ada then kept her own small private school behind her residence at 17 Elizabeth Street. Ada died aged 83 on 15 Apr 1945 and was buried at Carr Villa with her mother in Section B9 No 93. See The Examiner 17 Jun 2006, p.37.
