Mary Ann Windeatt, known as Annie, was born in Launceston to John Ferguson and his wife Ann Kirk. Annie married George Windeatt in Launceston on 5 Dec 1861. Their only daughter Ada was born 11 Sep 1862. Annie ran a private school in Frederick Street, Launceston, with the assistance of her daughter. George was a clerk at the Launceston Post Office and died in 1866. Annie died in Launceston 14 Dec 1923 aged 83. See The Examiner 17 Jun 2006, p.37.
