Possibly Alfred or his brother Arthur, sons of Henry Alfred Armitage and Hannah Walker who were married in Launceston in 1861.

Alfred Armitage was born on 1 Jul 1869 at Launceston, the fifth in a family of 11 children. He was employed as an iron moulder and married Emily May Keene on 18 Feb 1892 at Launceston. They had two children: Henry Alfred (1893-1975) and Basil Nelson Wilfred born in 1907. Alfred died aged 82 on 22 Jun 1952 and was buried at the Cornelian Bay Cemetery. His wife Emily had died 10 years earlier on 14 Oct 1942 aged 72.

Arthur Armitage was born on 14 Sep 1874, the seventh child of 11. He was employed as a tinsmith and married Annie Louisa Andrews on 12 Jul 1905 at Launceston. Their four children were born between 1906 and 1915. Their only son, Arthur Maxwell, died as a baby. Arthur died aged 80 on 15 Apr 1954 at Derby Street, Launceston. He was buried at Carr Villa in Section C11 No 686. His wife Annie had died 20 years earlier on 9 Apr 1934 aged 51. She was buried in the Church of England section of Carr Villa B1 No 244.
